About: Kirsty Elisabeth Hughan

I fall in love easily.  With a good omelet.  A pair of riding boots.  The color blue I painted my bedroom.  And when I fall in love I obsess.  I twirl these things over in my thoughts, and my vision, until they become so ingrained in my mind that they become a part of my taste.  A part of me.

My taste is my mother’s quiche lorraine.  It is my father’s stone wall.  My taste is Spanish tortillas, French escargot, Southern grits, and Maine lobster.  It is my aunt’s closet, and my grandmother’s hand-knit sweaters.  My taste has a long, changing history, filled to the brim with memories so thick they choke me up.

My professional background is in art and media.  I majored in Film & Electronic Arts at Bard College, during which time I worked for a theatre troupe and my alma mater’s admissions office.  Upon graduating I began an internship with PARADE Magazine, made a few websites for small businesses (including my own), studied the art of espresso, and have now settled in as Business Manager and Assistant to Pam Anderson, the fabulous cookbook author, entrepreneur, and blogger at ThreeManyCooks.com.
